Introduction These rules are written to ensure the safety and integrity of the UltimateYota.com Adventure Event. The rules are enforced by UltimateYota.com Adventure Event staff and volunteers. The participant can make any protests to the event coordinator after the event. All decisions by the event coordinator are final.
Safety Mandatory/Minimum safety equipment required for an UltimateYota.com sponsored adventure event and all must be in good working order: - Any open vehicle must have a roll bar firmly attached to the floor. A roll bar is recommended for all vehicles.
- Seat belts for all persons. Must be usable.
- First aid kit.
- Fire extinguisher, must show full charge and/or have the seal intact.
- Recovery strap.
- CB antenna longer than 60 inches must be secured top and bottom, no metal whips allowed.
- Jack, lug wrench, and a spare tire. Spare tire must have 3/32” minimum of tread. Event shall decide if spare must be carried on the vehicle.
- Operable brake lights
- A functioning braking system to include a parked position. Event host has the final decision of safety rule compliance.
- Each vehicle must demonstrate its braking system works.
- Current vehicle registration and proof of insurance.
These are minimum guidelines, event hosts may have additional requirements. Please check event listings.
Rules
- Speed limit is 15 MPH on the beach and within 50' of any camp or group of people. California's Basic Speed Law applies in the dune area: Don't drive faster than is safe for conditions.
- Everyone rides at their own risk. Know your limitations and do not exceed the capabilities of your vehicle.
- No alcoholic beverages or mind-altering substances, which may impair a person’s judgment are allowed while operating any vehicles.
- Litter laws are strictly enforced. Place litter in an appropriate trash receptacle or “Pack it in, Pack it out.”
- “Tread Lightly.” Ride only on established trails.
- Do not remove or destroy trees, shrubs, plants or animals. Tree straps must be always used.
- No hunting is allowed.
- Excessive speed and reckless driving is not permitted. Please follow posted speed limit signs.
- All Off-Road Vehicles (ORVs) must have a functioning spark arrestors and mufflers.
- All operators of Off-Road Vehicles must have a valid driver’s license.
- All Off-Road Vehicle drivers and riders should follow the manufacturer’s safe operating procedures. Please be sure that your ORV has the appropriate equipment needed to operate on the terrain.
- All vehicles must stay out of vegetated areas.
- Be courteous of other drivers.
- Failure to comply with the above rules, regulations and safe operating procedures can result in your being temporarily or permanently banned from the event or participating in any future events.
